Tyrus Thomas joins Butler Performance as Partner.

Butler Performance has a new partner. Tyrus Thomas, the Baton Rouge native who was cut from his high school varsity as a 5'10" freshman and went on to be the No. 4 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, has joined Butler Performance as Partner, and Baton Rouge becomes the company's first home base outside Georgia.

This is the biggest day in Butler Performance's history, and it isn't close.

What's changing

• Two home bases. Rome, Georgia, where Butler Performance started, and now Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
• Two networks, nationwide. Chase played Division I baseball at Georgia Tech and worked as a PGA Golf Professional at the private country club level. Tyrus played at LSU and in the NBA. Between us, we have people we've played with and against all over the country. Butler Performance is open to every one of them, wherever they do business.
• One company. One mindset, one mission, one movement. Everything we build and run carries one name: Butler Performance. That includes The Recruiting Assist, the platform Tyrus founded.
• The same build. Custom websites, platforms, CRMs, dashboards and AI automation, built by the same team to the same standard, whichever partner you call.

Why Tyrus

Tyrus first came to Butler Performance as a client. He brought us The Recruiting Assist: his plan to give every student-athlete one link that works as a recruiting profile, athlete website, digital resume and NIL page. We built it with him, from his brief to a live platform with a school finder, a college coach directory, an inbox and a workspace for the recruiters on the other end. Read that case study.

Building it side by side, it was obvious Tyrus holds work to the same standard we do. His whole story is about that standard: 6'7" and all-state by his senior year at McKinley, SEC Freshman of the Year and Atlanta Regional MVP on LSU's run to the 2006 Final Four, fourth overall in that summer's NBA Draft, the NBA All-Rookie Team, and eight seasons with the Bulls, Bobcats and Grizzlies. Nobody handed him any of it.
